Juvenile kestrel

Juvenile Kestrel 1

I know I need to write another blog post before the end of this month, but I’m struggling, so I will keep it short. This is a lovely juvenile kestrel that I found at Elmley nature reserve back in August, when most of the images I took were out of focus. In the end, I put the problem down to heat haze. Not something I had encountered before because I would normally have spent all summer photographing bugs.

  1. Nice shots and heat haze is horrid. We have just come back from the western cape in South Africa and it was really warm, so I know about the haze. Keep in touch for a meet up soon 🙂

    1. Thank you for confirming heat haze, but I’m sorry it spoiled your trip. Hoping you had a great time otherwise and yes… I would like to meet up soon. I’ve been trying to find some bearded reedlings, but no luck so far. No idea if I have the wrong time of year. Elmley is like a ghost town at the moment… 🙂
