Fruit Fly 2

I blogged about some little fruit flies that I found in our fields a couple of years ago. They only seemed to be around for a very short time and so I kept my eyes peeled for them on our yarrow last summer, but with no luck. Fortunately, I remembered them again this year and I got lucky! Looking back through Lightroom, it seems I first photographed them on 5th July 2023, while this year I spotted the first one on 6th July. Clearly, they are creatures of habit!

I believe this one is Oxyna flavipennis (Clouded Yarrow Fly).
