Red Roofed Hut and Buck Moon

My astrophotography seemed to be going so well this year, until I wanted the Milky Way with a beautiful three-cornered tower. With the new moon on 17th July, in theory I had that, plus four days either side, for a really dark night. I just needed one clear spell to get the image I have been after for the past two years, but every night was cloudy. Once again, the plan has been re-scheduled for next year.

In theory, I could possibly try again in August, but the Milky Way will have shifted more to the west and I would need to move in order to get the same composition. The problem is that would put me down the bottom of a very steep slope. There’s a chance I wouldn’t even see the top of the Milky Way from there, so I will have to be patient and find some new locations.

Here is one of my favourite spots photographed with the full moon rising at the beginning of July. My husband was kind enough to drive me down to Rye Harbour and we actually shivered in the strong wind waiting for the sun to set.

    1. Thank you Sid. I do love this little hut 🙂

  2. A cracking shot and what a shame about the clouds. Always another time 🙂

    1. It’s one of my top locations. I’ll get there eventually 🙂
