Buddy and the Christmas lights

Buddy and Christmas Lights 2

With thoughts turning to Christmas (whatever Christmas turns out to be in 2020), I couldn’t help but look at some images I took on Christmas Eve last year. My husband had just brought the lights out from the attic and before taking them downstairs, I decided to have a photoshoot with the cats. It was already dark outside, so the only light was from the decorations. Buddy was the first to come over and settle down on the throw. The ISO was cranked up to 5000 and the aperture opened to f/5.0, but the quality hasn’t suffered at all.

These turned out to be almost the last of our Christmas decorations. The tree had to be thrown out the year before as one of the cats had eaten the end of a branch, but had thankfully been sick during the night. Regardless, we were content to have just the lights draped over our tallest piece of Indian furniture and the wires were well hidden in a double layer of cable tidy. However, somebody must have squeezed down the side of the cabinet and bitten the only available section of wire, killing the lights once and for all. Happily, all the cats were fine, but we had to order new lights a few weeks ago. The short length of wire from the back of the furniture to the plug will now be boxed in, making the lights once and for all, cat-proof.

I hope.
